THE FEAST 2014
ABOUT - The Feast is an annual event that brings together artists, filmmakers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and technologists to engage each other in discussions about creating world-shaking change. Focused on creative solutions to today’s greatest societal challenges, this October 9-11, 2014 at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn brought together extraordinary people from across disciplines and serves as a starting point for relationships and projects that run all year long. The 2.5 day conference included 15 onstage talks, 18 workshops, an opening night party, a happy hour, a hardware hackathon and an open to the public music festival. The Feast is much more than a conference, with art installations, interactive dance performances, a boat made out of the conference waste, a stage that broke apart into tables, lots of play doh and legos & divine culinary displays it is an immersive experience like no other.
MY ROLE - As the Director of Events and Operations I produced the annual conference. I managed the budget, coordinated all vendors including catering by Roquette Catering, creative direction by Windmill Factory, graphic design by Wolff Olins and audio and visual by Wizards Studios. I was the account manager for all sponsors and clients with regular calls and check-ins. I also oversaw the agenda and run of show of the event. I secured venues, negotiated prices, outreached to speakers and confirmed involvement, recruited a team of 40 volunteers and finalized all financial recap of the event.
BUDGET - I managed a budget of $300,000 for the event raised from sponsorship and ticket sales.
ATTENDANCE - 200+ cross disciplinary entrepreneurs, innovators and change-makers. Speakers included Ben Cohen, Co-Founder of Ben & Jerry's, and Harley Dubois, Co-Founder of Burning Man. Partners and sponsors included The Rockefeller Foundation, Intel, Microsoft, IKEA, Pearlfisher, Sparkfun, Tribeca Film Institute, Red Hook Initiative and many more.
PRESS - "The Feast was as good as social good gets, with a quality group of speakers, staff, and attendees who pride themselves on not just being do-gooders, but actual doers in making a positive impact and their communities and on global issues." - Crowdster
